Honeywell International Inc. is an American multinational conglomerate corporation based in North Carolina. Well-known for its technological solutions, Honeywell trades in aerospace and automotive products, residential, commercial, and industrial control systems, engineered materials, and specialty chemicals and plastics. It originated in 1885 in Minneapolis, Indiana, when Albert Butz invented the damper flapper thermostat to control coal furnaces in homes. Butz founded the Butz Thermo-Electric Regulator Company, which eventually became the backbone of Honeywell Inc. Later, William Sweatt took over Butz’s company, which had been renamed several times and become the Electric Heat Regulator Company. The company continued to develop damper flappers and other heat regulators for thermostats. Its successful products inspired many other inventors, including Mark Honeywell, a hot water heat generator inventor from Wabash, Indiana. In 1906, he established Honeywell Heating Specialty Co. Incorporated and sold hot water heat generators. Over the years, the two businesses grew and clashed. They merged in 1927 to create the Minneapolis-Honeywell Regulator Co. In 1942, Minneapolis-Honeywell became a defense contractor for the US government, leading to the creation of the automatic pilot. This opened the aerospace industry’s door for the company, further extending its success. One of the firm’s most notable partnerships was with Raytheon in 1955, marking its first venture into manufacturing computers and information systems. Then in 1964, the company’s name changed to Honeywell Inc. Since its establishment, Honeywell has continued to merge and acquire other tech companies to expand its reach into other industries. Today, the company runs four business groups: Honeywell Aerospace, Honeywell Building Technologies, Safety and Productivity Solutions (SPS), and Performance Materials and Technologies (PMT). In 2021, Honeywell International Inc. transferred its stock listing from the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) to Nasdaq. It uses the ticker symbol HON.

With such a rich history, it’s no wonder the company has so many products out there, from new to used. Finding the right documentation can be difficult, especially in the English language. This is the reason why we opened up a section dedicated to Honeywell User Manuals, where you can view or download each PDF.
