Arris International Limited is a North American telecommunications equipment organization involved in data, video, and telephony systems for homes and businesses. Its two home telephony modems are TM402P and TM502G. The company also manufactures the SBG6580 wireless cable modem and router unit. Its cable telephony equipment delivers voice, video, and data services through local area networks utilizing broadband connections. Moreover, the organization designs hybrid fiber-coaxial (HFC) architectures and supplies them to cable system operators to build and maintain HFC networks.

Originally called Arris Interactive, the company was started in 1995 in England and Wales as a joint venture between Nortel Networks and Antec Corp. Its initial product offering was broadband access and distribution of cable television equipment. Subsequently, the firm expanded its portfolio into manufacturing broadband and internet access equipment. The rapid growth of Arris was based on its ability to transmit data at high speeds by applying the same coaxial cable that delivered programming into subscribers’ homes. Therefore,  the company provided telephone and data services over HFC cable, which enhanced its expansion locally and internationally.

In 2015, Arris announced its acquisition of Pace for $2.1 billion to transform video and broadband delivery through an expanded portfolio and customer base. The takeover broadened the company’s global CPE position by establishing a competitive stake in satellite communications. The acquisition was made using a combination of stock and cash and united the two companies’ engineering teams in extending scale and expertise. Arris is a publicly-traded organization listed on the NASDAQ with the symbol ARRS.

With such a rich history, it’s no wonder the company has so many products out there, from new to used. Finding the right documentation can be difficult, especially in the English language. This is the reason why we opened up a section dedicated to Arris User Manuals, where you can view or download each PDF.
