Established in 1991, Dyson Limited is a British technology company known for manufacturing household appliances – most notably for their vacuum cleaners. In 1978, its founder, James Dyson – decided to come up with a more efficient vacuum cleaner due to his frustration from his vacuum repeatedly breaking down and losing its suction after getting clogged with dirt. Dyson also had a hard time trying to find a licensee for his machine due to large vacuum manufacturing businesses seeing his invention as a threat to their profits. After 5,127 prototypes built between 1979 to 1984 – Apex Ltd., a Japanese company, expressed interest in licensing Dyson’s design. The company used Dyson’s design to build the G-Force, a space-saving vacuum cleaner that turns into a table useful for small apartments in Japan. With the income he gained from the Japanese license, Dyson Appliances Limited was established in 1991; a research center was also opened in the UK in June 1993. Ten years after his invention, an advertising campaign on TV with the slogan “Say goodbye to the bag” catapulted the company to finally make a breakthrough in the UK market. The Dyson Dual Cyclone vacuum cleaner quickly became in demand in the UK and outsold its competitors. The 2000s saw Dyson continue to innovate products with their cyclone technology such as the Dyson Airblade—a hand dryer that used moving air in removing water instead of using heat to evaporate it.  The company also ventured into manufacturing other home appliances such as bladeless fans, heaters, hair styling appliances namely the Supersonic hair dryer and Airwrap styler.

With such a rich history, it’s no wonder the company has so many products out there, from new to used. Finding the right documentation can be difficult, especially in the English language. This is the reason why we opened up a section dedicated to Dyson User Manuals, where you can view or download each PDF.
