Logitech is a Swiss company that manufactures computer software and peripheral devices. It makes consumer keyboards, mice, webcams, and headsets. Logitech runs many music, gaming, and computing brands such as Ultimate Ears, Jaybird, ASTRO Gaming, Streamlabs, etc. Logitech’s story started in 1981 in Switzerland when former Stanford students Daniel Borel and Pierluigi Zappacosta gained US distribution rights for a Swiss-designed mouse. The duo’s timing was impeccable because another tech company was assembling its first personal computer around the same time. Apple had just launched the Macintosh project, and Steve Jobs, the CEO at the time, agreed to include Logitech’s mouse in Apple’s computer components. The device became an important product in the personal computer market, compelling Borel and Zappacosta to invest more time in refining the design. Logitech cemented its place in the peripheral devices market when it started producing mice for Hewlett Packard (HP). The company also pioneered the wireless desktop market when it launched its first cordless mouse in 1991. That year, Logitech bought a 58% stake in Advanced Gravis, a Canadian company that was making joysticks and pointing devices for well-recognized companies such as Atari. In 1993, it also acquired California-based manufacturer Gazelle Graphics Systems. This acquisition proved pivotal as it allowed Logitech to fully control Gazelle’s trackball technology and use it in future portable computers. Throughout the ’90s, Logitech continued investing in mouse technology, a sector that accounted for 75% of its sales. Logitech currently trades on the SIX Swiss Exchange as LOGN and on the Nasdaq as LOGI.

With such a rich history, it’s no wonder the company has so many products out there, from new to used. Finding the right documentation can be difficult, especially in the English language. This is the reason why we opened up a section dedicated to Logitech User Manuals, where you can view or download each PDF.
