In 1962, they established Ricoh Industries, U.S.A., Inc., their first overseas subsidiary initially importing cameras but soon began marketing copiers in 1981 because of its sales potential in the US. The company soon changed its name to Ricoh Company, Ltd. Ricoh also entered the field of office computers in 1965 and debuted their Ricoh Typer Standard, a data-processing system and the Ricopy BS-1 which is an electrostatic coated-paper copier. They continued their expansion and through the early 70s, it was the first Japanese company to make copiers in the US. During this time, they also produced their first fax machine. During the 80s, Ricoh’s first personal computer and laser printer were introduced alongside the debut of the Imagio line of digital office automation equipment. The company bought Pentax in October 2011 and it became a subsidiary of Ricoh revamping the company’s existing digital camera range. In August 2013, the company changed its name to what we know now as Ricoh Imaging Company, Ltd. Ricoh is also listed in the Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka, Sapporo, Kyoto, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, and Paris stock exchange.

With such a rich history, it’s no wonder the company has so many products out there, from new to used. Finding the right documentation can be difficult, especially in the English language. This is the reason why we opened up a section dedicated to Ricoh User Manuals, where you can view or download each PDF.
