Vizio is an American technology company that makes TVs and soundbars. It also sells viewer data and is heavily involved in advertising. Vizio started out in 2002 as V Inc. under its founder William Wang who wanted to compete against companies that provided over-priced TVs. Vizio started out with only three employees, but four years down the road, a $600,000 investment turned into $700 million in sales. A year later, the revenue shot up to $2 billion. By 2007, Vizio was North America’s leading LCD television seller by volume. It got to this position by selling the most affordable flat-screen TVs on the American market at that time. The company’s success can also be attributed to the fact that it never really owned any manufacturing plant – it outsourced production overseas. The company branched out into producing smartphones and tablets in 2011. However, this venture did not bring as much commercial success as their TV and soundbars did. Vizio partnered with Google in 2016 to launch the first smart TVs. Running on GoogleCast, the TVs would allow users to control the screen from a tablet or smartphone. The TVs now have the functionalities of Google Assistant and numerous gaming features. Vizio acquired Advanced Media Research Group towards the end of 2014. The California-based company expanded its viewer data division by purchasing Automatic Content Recognition (ACR) provider Cognitive Media Networks in 2015. In March 2021, Vizio became a publicly-traded company, trading as VZIO on the New York Stock Exchange.

With such a rich history, it’s no wonder the company has so many products out there, from new to used. Finding the right documentation can be difficult, especially in the English language. This is the reason why we opened up a section dedicated to Vizio User Manuals, where you can view or download each PDF.
